Affiliations of GSSC
Throughout the year, Grand Slam Sports Complex is the place where local professional and club teams can be seen training for their respective sports. These players know they have to "practice like a pro to play like a pro." Everyone is invited to come out and watch the practice sessions. We are proud to lend our support the teams and organizations listed here and strongly encourage you to support them as well.
Reading Phillies
GSSC is the "unofficial training facility" for the Reading Phillies. Owner Rich Gaynor has a long-standing, on-going relationship with the team. He played for them in1983 and 1986, and is a member of the 1983 Reading Phillies' Hall of Fame team. Today, Rich is the team's official batting practice pitcher.
FC Revolution
We're proud to be the "official" training center" for the FC Revolution Soccer Club. From November through March, you'll see FC Revolution teams engaged in drills and scrimmages that keep their skills sharp and pay off when the spring season begins.
Reading Express
Reading's championship-caliber arena football team calls GSSC its "official winter training workout facility." The team holds practice sessions starting in December and trains with us throughout the season through June.
Reading Rage
GSSC plays host to individual members of the Reading Rage soccer team who love to practice at our facility throughout the year. In time, we hope the entire team will train here, too.
Susquehanna Valley Sports
Jim Cantafio, who coached Michigan quarterback Chad Henne at Wilson High School, holds SVS's elite football quarterback camps and clinics at GSSC. Last year, more than 70 up-and-coming quarterbacks attended and received the type of instruction they couldn't dream of getting anywhere else.
Berkshire Red Sox
We're the "winter training facility" for the Red Sox's traveling baseball squads. Starting in January, players are here taking batting practice and getting into shape for the upcoming season.
